Welcome to Tapestry’s website. If you are here to see what is going on in our community WELCOME !! You have begun in a good place, at a better time. It is Advent Season, and we are welcoming people to join us as we prepare ourselves to celebrate Christ! We are in the midst of inviting community to get to know Him in a deeper way. We want you to know that His love for you is greater than we can speak, and hopefully as you meet us, and our community of Christ followers you will experience some of that love.
This is something I have wanted to do a long time — write for those who are searching, looking, curious as to what a Tapestry is all about, and I have to admit I have been frustrated to not be able to just sit down and share from the heart. I will tell you why. I have wanted to have more together as a community, more people, more program, more to give people who come to us — more in place, more to show. You see, we are a new fellowship, started only a few months back, and we have working on an old building with a few people. We came from another area of the Northside of Chicago, but have begun to find a home in Independence Park an Irving Park. We like it here!!!
The exciting thing is we have an opportunity, (thanks to some loving people who are part of us) to share Christ with all who will be part of us, and hear our stories. God is working in us, just as Jesus came long ago to be Immanuel (“God With US”). Working out our self-centeredness, and working on us to be more loving, kind, caring and giving.
The weaving together of lives in Christ is the Tapestry, and you are invited to join us in our community. It is wherever we are, and we would love to have you a part of us. More than an event, or service or program, we are a people loved by Christ, and a people wanting to let Him have his way in our lives.
