About

aboutus

Welcome to a new church in a great community on the Northside of Chicago – across from Independence Park on Irving Park.  We are developing with a core of followers of Christ meeting and beginning to connect with the Irving Park community, basically from the 90/94 intersection on Irving Park east.  If you are interested in us, check us out on Sunday morning at 10:30, 10:00am for coffee, or give me, Mark Johnson a call for a one on one meeting.  We are looking for those interested to join in this community to serve the neighborhood, connect with each other, and follow the teachings of Jesus.  If for relating together for any reason, we hope you sense Christ’s Spirit and our warmth.  Come and see us or call:  773-931-8900.

More About Us
We are a fellowship of people who follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and strive to live them out on a daily basis.  We celebrate the diversity of God’s Creation and desire to be a community that embraces all ages, cultures, and ethnicities.  For us, the name Tapestry describes the weaving together of lives in Christ.

He is the one who brings seemingly different kinds of people together and unites them in a common purpose.  We let the Bible be our guide, and the Spirit direct our daily steps, as we follow Jesus.

It is our desire to:

  • Serve the communities of Independence Park, Irving Park, and beyond.
  • We hope to discover the gifts and talents of our communities as well as meet needs.
  • By partnering with community organizations, churches, and neighbors we hope to come alongside people.
  • Above all – We are here to listen.

We are working to listen to what the needs of the Irving Park Community are, and what role we are to play both locally and globally with those who have similar objectives and purposes in building God’s Kingdom.

As servants, our role is to come alongside, support and encourage growth and development of those important life changing qualities.  Working for those who are in need, oppressed, experiencing injustice, looking for and willing to follow God where He can be found.
